The Moment You Want to Quit

The Moment You Want to Quit

Dear Younger Fred… today I almost gave up…

The voice in your head will get loud.

"I can't do this."
"Why did I sign up for this?"
"This isn't me."
"I'm too tired…"

And today… it hit you again.

At the gym.

Your trainer pushed you into something new — training for a HYROX competition later this year.

More intensity.
More cardio.
More strain.

Each week, the bar gets a little higher.

And today… you hit it.

That moment.

Where your body slows down…
your mind starts negotiating…
and quitting feels like the most logical option.

It's been a while since you've felt that.

That edge.

That discomfort where everything in you wants to stop.

But here's what you'll realize…

You've been here before.

Remember grad school?
Rejected the first time.

Remember those CSI exams?
Didn't pass on the first attempt.

You felt the exact same way.

Doubt.
Frustration.
That quiet voice saying,

"Maybe this just isn't for me…"

But here's the pattern you didn't see back then:

Every time you said,
"I can't do this…"

You were right at the edge of becoming someone new.

That wall you're hitting?

It's not a stop sign.

It's a signal.

A signal that your current version of you is reaching its limit…

…and your next version is trying to break through.

Because if it were easy —
if it didn't push you —
you'd never change.

You'd stay the same.

So the next time you hear that voice…

"I can't do this…"

Pause.

And remind yourself:

This is exactly where the growth happens.

Not before it.

Not after it.

Right here.

At the edge.

Because the moment you feel like quitting…
is usually the moment your life is about to change!

Baaaaam — that's it for today.
See you next Thursday.

Stay curious,
Fred
